Kennys Corner/Jazzens Historier: Attila Muehl

  • Center for Dansk Jazzhistorie Kjellerupsgade 2 Aalborg Danmark (map)

Attila Muehl was given his first guitar for Christmas when he was thirteen. He had lessons with Johnathan Kreisberg and later studied for two years with Frank Haunschild (HFM-Cologne) and four years with Kurt Rosenwinkel (UDK-Berlin). He is one of the most active figures in the German jazz scene, recording and performing with some of the finest jazz musicians on the local and international circuits. These have included prominent musicians such as Johnny Griffin, Till Brönner, Wanja Slavin, John Schröder, Peter Weniger, Hans Peter Salentin, Phil Donkin, Torsten Goods, Tobias Backhaus, Andreas "Andi" Haberl and others. He can be heard on recordings by Kiki Manders, Ruben Gianotti and Andreas Wirth.

"Attila is a formidable guitarist who brings a fire to the music and yet is able to temper his passion with good taste, a rare combination. I love his attitude and engagement in art as an essential force in life"
- Kurt Rosenwinkel
