Ehud Banai - one of the most famous and influential songwriters in Israel since the 1980’s - is coming to Denmark for the first time to sing stories of spirit, love, faith, social justice and tolerance. Through his music and lyrics, Banai has touched the hearts of his listeners for over 40 years.
Banai is one of Israel’s most influential and appreciated artists. His first album, Ehud Banai and the Refugees, was considered by many to have forever changed Israeli music, and it has served as an inspiration for generations of musicians since.
Banai’s allure comes from the wealth of influences and hues that can be discovered in his music: sixties rock, eighties new wave, folk music from around the world, Israeli-Arab music and Jewish psalms to name but a few. The result is a unique melting pot which gave birth to a new and distinct musical language.
To date, Banai has released fifteen albums. Most of them have gone platinum or gold. He has given hundreds of performances in Israel, written two books, hosts a radio show, composes music for the theater, cinema and dance (twice he has won an Israeli Oscar for film scores) and, like the title of one of his songs, he always keeps moving.
Eyal Lovett is an Israeli piano player and composer recognized as one of the leading jazz musicians in Europe. In his arrangements, the music of Ehud Banai gains new life and meanings. Lyrical stories and emotional words blossom in the impressionistic landscapes of Eyal Lovett Trio’s mesmerizing performance.
In 2017, Eyal was chosen as “Artist of the year” by Jazzy Berlin and in 2018, Eyal Lovett Trio won 1st place at the international competition JazzWings in Warsaw.
