TVERSTED JAZZY DAYS & JAZZCENTRET PRÆSENTERER:

Jan Sedlák (CZ) - Årets Nordjyske Jazznavn ‘25 - has performed with renowned artists such as Gilad Hekselman, Niclas Knudsen, Yogev Shetrit, Mathias Sandberg, Anders Mogensen, Eyal Lovett and toured all over Europe from Malta to Finland. He has been writing poetry since the age of seven, most recently in the form of Waka.
 
“The Japanese poetry form, rooted in the era of the first empire, has long been my inspiration for writing music. Meditative and strongly emotional, it sketches fragments of stories - tales of love and loss set against the backdrop of Japanese nature.
Since I have never been to Japan, my own loves and losses take place against the backdrop of the city. Detached from nature. Often at night.
Much of this music is meditative, though parts are deeply desperate, and a few pieces are even bursting with joy. Lately, there has been much groove, swing  and joy in my life!”
