Kenny's Corner # 55 feat. Dustin Drews

  • Center for Dansk Jazzhistorie Kjellerupsgade 2 Aalborg Danmark (map)

Saxophonist Dustin Drews is a highly adept improvisor whose off-the-cut and emotionally charged delivery finds its place within the scope of melodic and experimental post-bop.- Born in Houston, Texas, Drews grew up learning music with his brother.

Drews currently resides in Berlin, where he works on other projects alongside his own. Some of the many notable musicians he has worked with are included in his debut album "Controversy" - Igor Osypov, Uri Gincel, Jesus D. Vega and Andreas Lang. Drew's debut album is a long-awaited tally of influences and concepts touching on lyricism, microtonal structures, traditional and odd meters - a lyrically aggressive post-bop jazz album.

Line-up:
Dustin Drews (USA) - saxophone
Luka Dgebuadze (GE) – klaver
Kenneth Dahl Knudsen (DK) - bas
Yannick Ballmann (B) – trommer
